I think technology shows its great potentials when its used to help people, especially those with disabilities to take advantage of the same tech objects or gadgets as others and in this case, this is meant to help the blind.
BrailleTouch is an app created so blind people can text on a smartphone with touchscreen, which otherwise would be impossible to do. Those who can write braille can use this app to text others by pressing the buttons a certain number of times to get a certain letter.
The creators are very confident about the app and have shown that the app is very accurate in the way it works. They also mention that some people might try to use this app as a way to text and drive, which they have spoken against and even mention that the app is not for everybody and is complex. So, the app should only be used by those who are target of it and i imagine the app works in the same way as braille typewriters(but i can`t be sure since i don`t know who braille works).
It seems to be a great development in making smart phones more accessible and i hope the app succeeds.
What do you think of the app? Do you also think it will be a advantage and a good way for the blind to get smartphones with the accessibility functions they need?
