My stomach was feeling a little off yesterday, so I brewed some licorice tea to help calm it down, as licorice tea allegedly helps with stomach upset. I pretty much drink this tea whenever I`m not feeling well, and yesterday I finished the box.
Aside from its alleged health benefits, this tea tastes really good! I like the taste of licorice, and this tea tastes quite strongly of it. It`s naturally sweet, without there being any sugars in it, and is really thirst-quenching. It`s really great as an after-dinner tea, or even with dessert! :)
This particular licorice tea contains licorice root, cinnamon, orange peel, star anise, sarsaparilla (i.e., the root used to flavour root beer!), natural vanilla flavour, orange, clove and cardamom. I like that they put cinnamon, clove, and cardamom in this tea, because that makes it spicy as well as sweet. Anise actually tastes like licorice, so it makes sense that that`d be in there, too. :) It`s always interesting to actually read the ingredients of a tea, because it always seems to be loaded with yummy stuff that you didn`t know was in it!
This Licorice Spice tea is a staple in my tea stash and I`ll definitely be repurchasing it. :)
