I was at a health food store over the weekend, browsing the tea section. They had some pretty pricey teas, but when I saw that one variety from Nourishtea was 50% off, I decided to try it. The tea I got is called jasmine dragon phoenix pearls. It`s loose-leaf jasmine tea. Green tea leaves are hand-rolled with jasmine flower blossoms to make pearls (see fourthphoto). When added to hot water, the pearls unfurl - they look so pretty! You can see how they slowly unfurl in the first, second, and third photos. To me, it looks like a little ocean in my mug, because the tea leaves and jasmine blossoms remind me of seaweed. :) In addition to looking really pretty, this tea tastes good, too! It has a very mild, but floral flavour which I really like. It`s really comforting. One container is supposed to make 40 cups of tea, so I`m sure it`ll last me quite a while. Apparently, Nourishtea donates 5% of proceeds to organizations that fight hunger while promoting nutrition. That`s pretty cool! They also support sustainable, ethical, and fair labour practices. I`m really liking this tea, and would love to try some of Nourishtea`s other varieties, including Minty Igloo (peppermint), Canadian Breakfast (orange pekoe), Midnight Campfire (lapsong suchong), The Sky Flies the Bird (sencha with toasted rice and popcorn blended inside - OMG!)...and, well, who am I kidding, I want to try almost all of them! You can check out all the different varieties at the http://www.nourishtea.com/.
