Tea of the Day: DIY Lemon + Ginger Tea

I felt a cold coming on the other day, and now it has arrived! I am quite sniffly and none too happy about it. I was talking to my brother, and he suggested that I boil some ginger and orange for 45 minutes, strain it, and drink it like tea. I didn`t have any oranges on hand, so I used a lemon.

I sliced up a lemon and a 4-inch piece of ginger, and put them in a pot of boiling water. I used lots of water, as I knew it would reduce, especially after boiling for 45 minutes. It smelled really good while it was boiling, and it helped clear my sinuses a bit. :) Once it had boiled down somewhat, I strained out the solids and drank the "tea". It was sour and spicy - kind of intense, really - but I think it helped relieve my symptoms a bit. Plus, ginger and lemon are good for your health in general, so maybe it`ll help me get better more quickly. :)
