Here`s another one of my very late dineLA postings and I think this is the last one. This time during dineLA I was able to visit four new restaurants. I can`t wait until the next time dineLA comes around again. I`ve done dineLA three times and this was probably my favorite because I enjoyed the food at all the restaurants that I visited. This was my dinner at Taste on Melrose and it`s located in the West Hollywood area. They serve American/Californian cuisine. The dinner was $26 for a three course meal.

- White Truffle Oil Cremini Mushroom Mac & Cheese

- Kobe Beef Meatballs (pine nuts, golden raisins, caramelized onions, white truffle cheese fondue, linguine, parmigiano-reggiano cheese)
- Grilled Salmon (roasted tomato sauce, sauteed spaghetti squash, pickled persian cucumbers, shaved red onions, balsamic reduction)

Chocolate Brioche Bread Pudding (creme anglaise, vanilla bean gelato)
- Sticky Toffee Pudding (whipped creme fraiche, spiced nuts)

I went to dinner with three of my friends and all four of us went with the White Truffle Oil Cremini Mushroom Mac & Cheese appetizer. It`s actually one of their most popular dishes. It came to the table piping hot and fresh out of the oven. The cheese was evenly melted and there was a nice smokey flavor. Everyone enjoyed their appetizer and we were off to a good start.
Two of us ordered the Kobe Beef Meatballs and the other two ordered the Grilled Salmon. The meatballs was amazing! Seriously, probably the best meatballs I`ve had at a restaurant, hands down. First of all, the meatballs were huge so there`s definitely no complaint about portion size. The overall flavor was just amazing and the meat was very tender. I hate it when I bite into a meatball and it`s all dry with no flavor. These meatballs were just the opposite of that. The sauce was delicious and the linguine was cooked perfectly. I tried some of my friend`s Grilled Salmon and was also pretty good. The salmon was cooked just the right amount so it was still flakey and I really liked the spaghetti squash.
For dessert I went with the Chocolate Brioche Bread Pudding. It was an okay dessert, but it was a little bit too much chocolate for me. That`s more of a personal thing because I don`t really like chocolate. I didn`t try the other dessert so I can`t tell you which one is better.
If you ever end up at Taste on Melrose, then I would highly recommened the Kobe Beef Meatballs because it was the most delicious thing I had that night.
