Taro Soup (canh khoai mon)
2 green onion (white part only)
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tablespoon of fish sauce (nuoc mam)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 pound taro root
1 pound of pork (with bones)
1 quart of water
Add pork and bring the water to a boil .
Drop in the taro and cook at a boil for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, test to make certain the taro is soft; if not, cook a few minutes more. When the taro is ready, add fish sauce, salt, and black pepper to the soup.
Sprinkle green onion in soup and serve with rice.
