I`m back with the last of my hauls from Target`s store closing clearout.
I happened to drive by 2 days before they closed my local Target store. By that time I would say the vast majority of merchandise had been cleared out.
But lucky for me, I was able to find a few things from what was left.
In the cosmetics section, they only had a few large bins of Sonia Kashuk and Pixi items that were left over. The shade selection was really limited, basically 1 or 2 options per item. The products left were mostly face products, and way too dark for me, but I did find a Sonia Kashuk foundation stick that would work for me. This was being cleared for around 3 dollars, down from the original price around 11 bucks.
I was also looking for little storage bins for my family members and I. Our front hall closet has become a disaster zone - we have a top shelf littered with our different hats, scarves, mitts and the like. Our gloves are always getting mixed up and we lose one of the pair, and we have to sort through a pile of stuff each time we head out the door. So I decided to get some small baskets and put each of our names on them. I also got a `Miscellaneous` basket for the extra items so 6 baskets in total. I wasn`t sure if I was going to be able to find something but luckily I uncovered a pile of these blue baskets for under a dollar each.
I have already set them up in our front hall closet and they are super handy. And best of all, everything is neat and sorted so even when spring comes, we don`t have to dump everything in a box and bring it out next winter! It can stay nice and neat on the top shelf!
I also want expecting to find any clothes since sizes were super limited, but I decided to sneak a peak at the handful of racks left. I immediately noticed that they had just a few of these colourful open knit, hi-lo Ava and Viv sweaters. I actually tried these one during the first week of clearout, but decided they were still too expensive. At that time, they were only marked down 10 percent off the original price tag near 28 bucks. I wasn`t expecting to find any left, but there were a couple of these sweaters available, and lucky for me, I found 2 in my size - one of each colour. They were now 70 percent off so I picked up both! They are great colours for spring and I have already worn them a bunch of times! I lucked out by finding them.
The last item I bought was a wallet -I can`t recall how much I bought this for, but I was super excited to find it. I have been looking for a wallet to two zip compartments for a while. My current wallet has 2 zip compartments, and I love it! But it`s falling apart at the seams - 1 of the zippers is broken and often gets stuck, which makes it tough to open and close. I have been searching for a replacement for a long while. So how surprised was I when I found a great substitute left on the shelves. It`s a simple black and white striped design, and also has a wristlet band which is handy since I occasional grab my wallet alone like a clutch when I don`t need a purse. You can`t really tell from the picture, but there are 2 zippers and two seperate compartments. I love it, and I almost wish I bought a second one as a backup. If they had a different print, I probably would have! But this one is great and I`m excited to start using it, and getting rid of the old one.
It is still so sad that they had to end up closing Target here in Canada - they were barely around for 2 years before shutting their doors. Such a shame, but is Canadian consumers get the short end of the stick once again.
I guess we will have to go back to cross border travel in order to get our Target fix!
