Tagaytay, Philippines

*disclaimer: these are my own personal pictures from my trip to the Philippines Dec 2012-Jan 2013

I visited the Philippines for the first time with my boyfriend and his family. They moved from the Philippines when my boyfriend was roughly 8 years old, and it was the first time coming back as a family in roughly 10 years. I was lucky enough to tag along on their trip to attend the Grandparent`s 60th wedding anniversary and meet the rest of the family.

During our time in the Philippines, we decided to take one of the aunty`s cars to go on a road trip to Tagaytay. Tagaytay is a small tourist spot with spectacular views like the ones in the picture. It is a place higher up in the mountains so the weather was a lot cooler than the average humid 30 degrees celcius in Manila. Would definitely recommend bringing a cardigan or jacket as the constant breeze gets chilly and it gets cold at night.

It`s a very small town so there wasn`t much to do. We only stayed overnight. There is a waterfall there apparently just about an hour`s drive from the main area, but we didn`t have time to explore. However, following filipino tradition we ate often during the day and at every restaurant we stopped at there was always good food and a nice view.
