I have heard a lot of my friends talk about the benefits of Chia seeds and how it`s a great addition to any diet. So I decided to venture off around the grocery store to find any drink containing the Chia seeds. Of course it`s going to be an organic drink, since anyone consuming Chia seeds is looking for that more organic diet.
So I grabbed this drink from Syngery, the Raspberry Chia blend. This contains Raw Chia seeds, which are described as Raw Energy.
"Often called `runner food,` chia is a nutrient rich superfood that provides sustained energy for your body. Packed with more than 8 times the Omega-3`s found in salmon, this small seeds has big nutritional value. With more antioxidants than blueberries and more fiber than oatmeal."
I definitely don`t mind the texture of the seeds in the drink, since I have had things similar to the jelly like texture of the chia seeds. However, the Syngery drink itself is not all that great tasting. Along with that, because it`s an organic drink it`s pretty expensive for just one bottle.
So I think as an alternative, and for better taste, I might work on adding Raw Chia seeds that are sold separately (found in organic grocery stores such as WholeFoods) and adding them to other juices that I like better. That way I am still getting the benefits of the Chia Seeds while saving a bit more money.
