This is a soup recipe I tried recently from the TLC Parentables site. It intrigued me because it was awfully similar to French Onion Soup, but was made with beer instead of wine. So I got to work in my kitchen to test it out.
I followed the recipe but with some minor adaptations. I added minced garlic towards the end of sautéing the onions. I used just whatever beer I had on hand at the time, which I can`t remember. I seasoned the bread with garlic powder and toasted it under the broiler, then put Jarlsberg cheese slices on top, and broiled it again.
It was super delicious. I recommend this especially now during these cold months.
