I grew up in my family`s buffet so sweet and sour pork is a huge part of my childhood. But it`s been years since my dad is willingly make it for my brother and I. lol It`s probably the most popular dish among Americans because it`s sweet and crunchy at the same time. Who can hate it right? I`ve never met anyone who didn`t like sweet and sour pork. Okay enough rambling. lol Although this isn`t typical for a Chinese household, I still love it!
This is a dish I ate at my friend`s wedding in San Francisco not too long ago. There were so many other dishes but this one was the most memorable out of all of them just because it brought back so many memories of my childhood. The sauce is super simple to make, but for some reason it always tastes better in a restaurant. Is it just me? Lol Either that or I`m not capable of making good sweet and sour sauce. It takes years to perfect.
What`s your favorite dish at the buffet? I`ve moved on from sweet and sour to coconut shrimp. It`s super yummy, creamy, crunchy, sweet, yet savory.
