As you may have seen in one of my recent posts, I picked up a few of the shades from the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fall 2012 display. The three that caught my attention are Purple Haste, In a Flurry, and Freeze!
Purple Haste has a shimmery purple base with some blue shimmer. The blue shimmer shows up on the nails, but it`s not a really strong effect. This was my least favorite of the three. I had some bald spots after two coats, so I needed to apply a third coat. The brush was kind of wonky as well. It was longer on one side than the other and it had a few brush hairs sticking out.
In a Flurry has a blackened purple base with green and blue shimmers. I`m very glad to report that the shimmer does show up very well on the nails. It was sheer with the first coat, but it was completely opaque after three coats.
Freeze! is a gorgeous metallic blue. Pictures don`t even do this justice. In person, it looks like liquid metal or something. I have tons of blues, but I don`t have anything quite like this. This was the most opaque out of the three. I used two coats. The only downfall is removal. You will get smurf hands and it stains a bit, so make sure to use a good base coat. Overall, I could live without Purple Haste, but I am in love with In a Flurry and Freeze! The brush isn`t my favorite because of its size and shape, so be careful when applying or it can get messy. I`ve seen this collection at Walgreens and CVS. There were a few more shades in the display, but they were very bright summery shades. They were $5.49 each at the CVS I bought them at, but they had a promotion going on, so I got them cheaper.
