I haven`t posted on here in such a long time, but I figured I would share swatches of the new Essie Winter 2012 Leading Lady Collection. It has a total of six shades (two glitters and four cremes). It has a couple shades that are pretty unexpected in a winter collection, but I like that. I`m glad that the collection isn`t just all different shades of red.
Beyond Cozy is one of the glitters from the collection. It is very densely packed with gold glitter. This is only two coats! It`s more of a silvery gold rather than a warm/yellow gold. This picture shows the polish without topcoat. I took pictures of it with topcoat, but you couldn`t really tell the difference. It`s only a little gritty. It kind of reminds me of China Glaze I`m Not Lion, but it doesn`t have holographic glitter.
Snap Happy is a bright coral/red creme. I thought that this would be my favorite out of the two red cremes, but I didn`t like it that much on my skin tone for some reason. The formula was nice, though. I did two coats, but it really opaque even with the first coat. Make sure you use a good base coat with this one, though. It stained pretty badly. After I removed it, it looked like I was bleeding around my nails.
She`s Pampered is more of a classic red creme. It`s not very unique, but the formula was nice. I used two coats. Again, be careful with staining.
Where`s My Chauffer? is a robin`s egg/turquoise creme. This is one of the colors that are unexpected in a winter collection. This is my favorite from the whole collection, though. I have it on my toes right now. The formula was good. Again, two coats.
Leading Lady is a red jelly base with red glitter throughout. I was expecting this to be sheer, but I only ended up needing two coats. You need a topcoat with this one so it doesn`t appear gritty.
Butler Please is a bright blue creme. This is the other unexpected shade. I`m not sure how well you can tell, but it doesn`t dry to a very glossy finish. You`d want a topcoat on this one too. The formula wasn`t as good as the rest of the others from this collection, but I still only needed two coats. You should be able to find this collection where ever you normally find Essie nail polishes. I`ve seen it at Target and Walgreens, but the display at Walgreens only had four of the six colors (She`s Pampered, Snap Happy, Butler Please, and Leading Lady). Essie usually retails for around $8. Have you gotten any shades from this collection yet?
