Swatches: Essie Stylenomics Collection

When I originally saw pictures of the new Fall Essie Stylenomics collection, none of the shades really stood out to me and I didn`t plan on getting any. As you can see, I changed my mind. I`m not sure what it is, but whenever I see a new Essie collection, I feel compelled to buy all of the shades, even if I already have similar ones. I first found the collection at CVS, but they only carried four of the six colors, so I ordered the remaining two from Amazon.
Head Mistress seems like your typical red, but I actually like it. I have it on my toes right now. It`s a creme finish, but it also has a little bit of a jelly look. The formula was good and I used two coats.
Stylenomics is a very dark green. It`s darker than I expected it to be. It`s blue-toned, but it`s not quite teal. This also has a bit of a jelly look. I didn`t have any issues with the formula. I did two coats. If you notice, my cuticles are stained a bit red in this picture...more on that later.
Don`t Sweater It is that greige/taupe that you see everywhere. I really like this one, but it`s not the most unique shade of the bunch. The formula was great. I applied two coats, but I probably could have gotten away with only one. I compared Don`t Sweater It to a couple other polishes that I have. China Glaze Below Deck is more purple, while Rimmel Steel Grey is a tad more grey and less pigmented. They are all in the same color family, though.
Skirting the Issue is a dark red with a jelly finish. This one was kind of weird. It was really opaque with the first coat, but it was pretty streaky, so I ended up needing three coats. It also stained my cuticles pretty badly, as I mentioned earlier. It kind of reminds me of blood...
Miss Fancy Pants is the other neutral from the collection. I like it, but I`m not obsessed with it or anything. The formula was good and needed two coats. I think the name is kind of cute. Don`t Sweater It is much darker than Miss Fancy Pants.
Recessionista looks like a plum/magenta in the bottle, but it looks more like a plum/burgundy on the nails. It`s much darker on the nails than in the bottle. I like the bottle color better than what you end up with on the nails, but it`s still a nice fall shade. I used two coats with this. You should be able to find this collection anywhere you would normally find Essie polishes (drugstores, salons, Ulta, etc.) for $8 per bottle. I got a couple of them for a bit less than $7/bottle on Amazon. Have you gotten anything from this collection yet? *All pictures and written content are my own, from*
