Hi everyone! Last week I posted about some new Limited Edition Milani eyeshadow palettes and now I`m here posting swatches and initial impressions for you in case you were interested in purchasing them. If you scrolled through my pictures, you`ll notice that this palette bears a striking resemblance to a really popular palette: URBAN DECAY`S NAKED PALETTE! Of course, the Milani version only has 6 shadows while the Naked has 12, but the shadows in the Milani palette are eerily similar to the first six in the Naked palette! As far as I know, this Milani palette available exclusively at Walgreens so call around to your local stores to see if it`s available. I visited about 4 Walgreens in one day and 3/4 of them had this palette display. Pricewise, this palette is $7.99 for 6 shadows, compared to the UD palette which is $50 for 12 (full sized) shadows. If you don`t have the Naked palette yet and/or only interested in the first six shades, this would be something interesting to check out. As far as the swatches, most of the colors are EXACTLY the same from the shade, finish and even the order of the shades. The Milani version of Virgin is a bit more sheer and shimmery while the UD version is more pigmented and more frosty. The Milani version of Sin is also a lot more orange than the UD version, so these are some things to keep in mind about this palette. The pigmentation was actually really good and they wore well over primer. Issues I have with this palette include: - The shape of the shadows: I`ve never liked these skinny bars that Milani does with the shadows. It`s very difficult to use anything other than a skinny flat brush. - These colors are all light, there are no good darker outer corner colors or crease colors. Since this palette mimics only the first half of the Naked palette, it doesn`t include any of the darker colors which are featured in the second half. If you like doing really light looks then this will work for you, but if you like to have dimension and depth to your look you`ll need to use dark colors you already own. - These shadows are fragile. I didn`t break any of these but I had one that arrived from a giveaway broken because it wasn`t packaged properly - No mirror Overall I think this palette is a good buy if you DON`T ALREADY OWN THE NAKED PALETTE! The colors are nicely pigmented and are a really close dupe of the first six shades of the Naked palette, if not dead on dupes. It`s $8, compared to Naked`s $50 so it`s a good price if you don`t already own the higher end version. The only things I don`t like about the palette are mentioned above, but if I didn`t already own the Naked palette I would consider keeping this one. Thanks for reading! Have you been able to find these palettes in your area? What do you think of them? All images and content are my own.
