Hi everyone! A couple months ago I decided to splurge on my first Lancome palette, and I picked "Golden Frenzy" after seeing Holly Ann-Aeree say this was her favorite of all the Lancome palettes she owned.
Price & Availability
- Available where Lancome products are sold
Shades & Finishes
- Comes with five shades:
» all over base: shimmer white
» lid: metallic gold
» crease: matte medium brown
» highlight: metallic/glittery gold taupe
» liner: matte black
- Sleek black plastic
- Fingerprints like crazy
- Has Lancome logo in the lower right corner
- Comes with two sponge tip applicators
- Sleek, slim packaging
- Wearable colors
- Nicely pigmented
- Blend well
- Last several hours over primer
- Case picks up finger prints
- Colors are wearable but not unique
- The highlight shade is not what I would use for a highlight; and it also has some fallout
I initially I was really excited to receive this palette because it was my first Lancome palette, and it was probably the most I had ever spent for a 5-shadow palette.
In the end I was disappointed. The quality is great and everything but the colors are really not unique and I don`t think the entire thing warrants the almost $50 price tag.
Granted, I have this mentality about certain things: I`m not willing to pay an arm and a leg for shades I won`t wear, but if the colors are too simple, why not find a cheaper alternative?
I think if you find a color combination that really speaks to you then this may be worth the splurge. However, I couldn`t justify spending $50 for shades that I could find from other brands for much cheaper.
Thanks for reading. Have you ever tried a Lancome palette?
