Hi everyone! I just posted about hauling these new Julie G polishes I picked up from Rite Aid on Monday, and I wanted to get some swatches up of the shades I got in case you were interested in purchasing them for yourself. First there were crackle polishes and the newest trend seems to be textured polishes, which are bumpy and gritty to the touch. Milani released a line of limited edition textured polishes that apply like regular cream finish polishes, but as it dries they turn bumpy. These Julie G polishes are all shimmery and glittery so those particles are was cause the gritty texture and look of the nail. There are six shades in the line and they retail for $3.99 each. Last week or so there was a Groupon deal where you could get all six for $12 + shipping, and I kind of wish I had jumped on that deal, but I wasn`t sure how these were going to turn out. So here are the shades I got: Sugar Rush, which is a fiery orange red with gold glitter that`s perfect for summer. I really liked this shade when I saw it in the store, but I didn`t think it was all too special once it was on my fingers. Rock Candy, which is a beautiful jade/mint green with small and larger silver glitter. This was the first shade that I picked up because it was just too gorgeous to pass up. When both of these shades were swatched on my fingers above, I couldn`t help but stare at Rock Candy. One coat of polish led to pretty opaque coverage, but I used two coats to get true-to-bottle color. Most people who have used nail polish know that glitter nail polishes are a ridiculous pain to remove and I was almost dreading it, but surprisingly this was very easy to remove. I did use 100% pure acetone, which removes most nail polishes in a flash so that may have something to do with it. If you don`t use 100% acetone nail polish remover, I`d recommend giving it a try if you wear nail polish a lot and/or are tired of rubbing your nails for half an hour trying to get stubborn polish off. The four other shades included a dark red, a cherry red, orange and a purple/blue shade. Thanks for reading! Have you tried this polishes yet? All images and content are my own.
