Hi everyone! A loooong time ago I had hauled a bunch of CoverGirl Lip Perfection lipsticks and had reviewed a bunch of them and then I fell off the review wagon. I`ve had these photos sitting on my computer for a very long time, and I`m finally putting up swatches of this shade in case you were curious about what it looked like. This is the color Tempt, which is a fuchsia-red shade. I actually returned this lipstick soon after opening it because it wasn`t the color I thought it was going to be. From the color on the bottom I thought it was going to be a rich red shade but it turned out to have a lot of pink-blue undertones which didn`t look good on me. So this is really a swatch/first impressions post. Price & Availability - $8 to $9 - Available wherever CoverGirl products are sold
Shade & Finish - Tempt is a fuchsia-toned red - This is a creme finish lipstick
Packaging - Square purple packaging - Color in the tube is on the bottom of the packaging - Packaging collects fingerprints like a beast
Scent - There is a scent to it that I`m not sure how to describe: it`s kind of fruity...kind of floral. I like it.
Pros - Easily accessible/widely available - Sleek packaging; very chic compared to previous CG lipstick packaging - Opaque, rich color - Smooth application - Creamy color
Neutrals - Price: kind of expensive for a drugstore lipstick (a MAC lipstick is $14.50); but CoverGirl does go on sale at drugstores - Scent - Staining: As you can see, this product stains your skin with color, so if you`re looking for a semi-long wearing product, this may be for you. If not, it can be removed by using some makeup remover - Not moisturizing, but not drying either - I haven`t used this product enough to vouch for its claim of making lips look better in 7 days
Cons - I really can`t think of any cons for this product. CoverGirl was never on my radar when it came to lipsticks, but I really like these and have several shades.
Overall There are a TON of shades in this line, and when you add that to the CoverGirl Queen collection there`s even more shades to choose from. So there is definitely a shade for everyone. Every shade I`ve tried has had creamy, smooth and rich color, with the darker/brighter shades staining the lips. Thanks for reading! Have you tried any of these lipsticks? Which shades do you like?
