This summer has been really busy for me because of work and my summer sewing class. During my free time I really wanted to get into a few DIY`s The first one were these dipped dyed bleached shorts. I was not sure how they would turn out, but they were really easy!
My cousin and I hit the thrift store to find some cheap jeans we could cut up. I picked up this pair of Bull Head capri jeans for under $5! I cut them into shorts and pulled out the thread from the bottom. I also cut some holes and to give them more of that distressed denim look. This was probably the most time consuming part. Next I filled up a bucket with at least 2 cups of bleach and I let the bottom of them sit there for about 10 minutes. I kept dipping them in and out quickly for a few minutes since I didn`t want a straight line of bleach on the shorts. Letting them sit in the sun after bleaching makes them turn white faster. After that was done I rinsed my shorts in cold water and threw them in the washer and dryer and TAAA-DAAAA!!!
My Shorts were finished! I love the turn out! I did pull on them a little too hard which caused that tear at the bottom, but it gives them character lol.
I have another DIY coming soon!
