The other day I went to the grocery store to pick up a few essentials for the work week. I went to a market I typically never go to and they had this huge Asian influenced aisle so of course I had to browse around to see if there was anything I`d like to pick up. And of course - I did. I spotted this pack of Strawberry Jam Filled Cookies for 79 cents. They seemed interesting - the package saying they were soft cookies with a jam filling and the calorie stats weren`t anything to shake a head at (for me, calorie states refers to Weight Watchers points which was 1 point a cookie).
I enjoyed one of these last night and they are decent. I wouldn`t venture out to say they are "soft" because they are like an in-between. Softer in texture, but crispier/gritty in consistency. The jam inside is regular jam but it`s a bit gummy because the jam was baked inside the cookie so the wetness of it had since gone elsewhere. I can`t complain because it`s just a natural process that happens when you bake a fruit-based jam. Overall these weren`t bad and they are a cookie I`d reach for if I wanted something small, low in points, and in portion size (they are wrapped individually which I am a HUGE fan of!). These were sold in Pineapple and I want to say Mango, but I opted for the Strawberry variety.
Have you ever tried Strawberry Jam Filled cookies?
