I was so happy seeing the strawberry plants I`ve planted bearing strawberries. They were ripening too. So I got my basket ready and started plucking and eating it at the same time..lol..couldn`t help myself...love..love..love.. strawberries. They were kinda small compared to the ones you usually get at the grocery store but this was the first season I`ve planted it and I wonder if that`s the reason. The plant that is bearing the strawberry is called Strawberries Galore or Berries Galore, I forgot. They have white flowers and I have 3 different kinds of strawberry plants in my garden. The one with the dark pink flower is called Tristan. I wonder how big that plant`s strawberry is gonna get. I love to grow my own strawberry especially ever since CA approved of this certain pesticide they are planning on spraying the strawberries with. I`d rather have small strawberries than pesticide coated strawberries. Now I just can`t wait for the other ones to ripen too. Oh and if you want to grow your own strawberries, you`re better off buying plants that has leaves on it instead of bareroot strawberries. I`ve bought 2 packs of bareroot strawberries for $2.98 each and they all died. A couple sprouted some small leafs but then died off. So you`re better off and gauranteed that the plant will live if you buy live ones instead of bareroot ones. I got the live ones from rite aid for sale 2/$6. That`s cheap in my opinion. You don`t need to have a green thumb to grow strawberries. It`s fairly easy. Give it a try next year.
