In Malaysia, Kuih means dessert. Dessert in Malaysia comes in a wide variety of shapes, tastes and flavors but most of the kuih shares one common ingredient, which is coconut milk. Other than that, screwpine leaves or more well known as pandan leaves are used to make Asian desserts since they have a really pleasant aroma..kinda like vanilla:) I have been wanting to eat this dessert for a while now and to my surprise, a lady from the Malaysian restaurant happened to make some for my friend and she was so generous to share it with everyone else!:) It really made my day when I could taste it..I feel like I have been deprived of Malaysian desserts for so long so this kuih definitely hit the right spots!Hehe Ohhh for those of you who are counting the layers of the kuih, I know there`s only 7 layers of them in this picture but traditionally, this dessert has 9 layers..thus the name!:)
