My review today is for Steam Cream.
Steam cream is a moisturizer made by traditional methods and using many natural products and, an interesting detail: it`s manufactured. How rare is it nowadays to find a beauty product that isn`t produced in millions by a machine?
The ethic policies of the company are also great, and they don`t test on animals, which is a plus.
Now, I`ll be honest, the first thing that attracted me to steamcream was that I saw one of their tins online. They`re so pretty! Even that is great for the environment because with packages so beautiful you`ll want to reuse them over and over again.
You can see some of my favorite tin designs in the pictures.
So, I contacted steamcream to ask them if they had stockists in Portugal because I really fell in love with the concept and they were so kind that they replied that they shipped their products here but they would be glad to send me some sachets for me to try before I ordered.
So, the sachets arrived this week and I decided to give them a try.
The cream is easy to spread on skin, but, probably because its supposed to penetrate your skin fully, it takes a while to be absorbed. If youre in a hurry and want to put make up on afterwards, I wouldnt advise it. Id probably use it more at night, to give it enough time to be absorbed.
It has an unusual herbal smell that reminds me of tea, very different from the standard cosmetics smell.
When it comes to the effects of my skin, I tried it for a whole day with make up on. I must say I have combination skin that tends to get very dry on the cheeks and oily on the nose. After a few hours with steamcream on the skin on my cheeks felt really comfortable but the oiliness on my nose was really starting to show.
I also tried it on my hands and the effect was very nice. It really moisturized my skin after using cleaning products.
I think this is a great cream for drier skin, especially if you are usually sensitive to chemical products.
I`m definitely going to buy a tin to keep on my purse... The question is... which one?
