No matter how many times it happens each year, it is hard not to be excited about New York Fashion Week. Each year, the city of New York has so many big name veteran designers showcasing their newest lines for the season. In addition, there is also a barrage of young up and coming designers entering the fashion arena. From Lincoln Center to the Waldorf Astoria to other private event around the city, February is one of the hottest times in New York, with designers, celebrities and fashion buzzing all around the city.
One of the shows this year showcased a young designer by the name of Staci Sherri. Staci Sherri was born in Maryland. It was clear that she was interested in fashion and beauty when she was very young.
After she earned her Bachelors of Science and Fine Arts degree at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa, FL, she moved to NYC and vdove right in, preparing to become an independent fashion designer. Her career began when she worked as an intern and impressed design teams at Beckerman and RocaWear. Later, she continued to strengthen her design expertise and expand her knowledge of the industry while working with Beyoncé and Tina Knowles.
During the show on February 12, 2012 at the Helen Mills Event Space located at 137 West 26th St. (between 6th and 7th), New York, NY, she showcased her most recent creations for young women. Within the runway show, there was a blend of classic black and white along with a hint of spring colors. The collection was fun fresh coupled with a little sexy.
If her debut show is any indication of her talent, we can definitely expect to see so much more from this young designer.
