This was my dinner of the night in honor of St. Patrick`s Day! My boyfriends mother invited us over for a traditional boiled dinner. I made some chocolate stout & bailey`s frosted cupcakes and my boyfriends aunt & uncle came over as well and brought some Irish soda bread. Just an FYI: I don`t take pictures of my dinners in front of my boyfriends mother [I just don`t want to explain LOL] so I took this picture of the meal she sent home with us ;). Sadly, my boyfriend ended up not feeling well AT ALL once we got to his moms and spent dinner on the couch laying down.
For our meal we had a traditional grey corned beef (which means the beef has been brined beforehand, making it grey instead of pink), boiled potatoes, carrots and cabbage. The meal was very good, but I will say the beef itself was rather fatty. I cut the visible fat off mine and ate the meat, but the meat itself, without the extra fat was very good. I eat my meal with white vinegar drizzled over it. Then for the first time EVER, I tried Irish Soda Bread and fell in looove with it! I am a carboholic and it was just so yummy.
So there you have it, my meal for St. Paddy`s day!
Did you celebrate St. Patrick`s Day with a traditional meal?
What did you have for dinner today?
