I finally feel that I have used this palette enough to let you know my thoughts on it. This is the Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette. It can be bought at Target for $9.99. In it comes 4 creams and one powder. You get 2 tones of actual concealer: one that is lighter and another that is deeper. Then you get a green tinted color corrector. Finally, there is a translucent powder.
I do like this concealer set, but I find it wouldn`t work out well for everyone. I think if you are somewhere in a midtone range of skin color you will find or be able to mix a combo that will match you. But, the lightest shade in here is almost too dark for my very fair skin. You can see in the swatches that it is still quite a bit darker than my coloring. Also, if you have even medium-dark to dark skin this would be too light for you. The problem is, this is currently the ONLY quad they offer. They don`t have a few different quads to choose from. I think it would have been better if they had one targeted at fair-medium, medium, and medium-dark.. at very least. Once I blend out, though, I can get it to work.
The color corrector I quite like. I always see very bright green or true green correctors and this one is more of a split pea soup kind of green. For that reason, I think it does a better job and then you are able to cover it more easily. Also, I could see some olive toned women being able to use it very lightly JUST on the red spots and, perhaps, not even need to go over that. It is that natural of a green that some could pull it off on the spots and not have to go any further. Me? I do have to apply a flesh tone over the corrector.
Finally, the translucent powder. I really don`t use this. I have used it a couple of times under the eyes, but I have larger compacts/loose powders that I prefer over this one. But in a pinch, it is good and I do think it is a nice addition to round out this quad.
The 3 creams are very creamy and it is easy to work them into the skin and keep good coverage on the spots/marks/etc you are trying to conceal.
I started using this with a small brush but with some trial and error I found that I actually prefer to dot it on with a brush and then use my fingers to warm the product and help melt it into the skin. That is just my personal preference. I have also just used (clean) fingers and no brush.
I think for ten dollars this is a good product, but not my HG concealers. I don`t use this as my all over concealer, either. I think it is too thick for under my eyes. I find it settles into fine lines and just doesn`t look natural. It is too heavy for that. I prefer to use this specifically on discoloration/spots.
I think if you fall within the tones this palette offers, which is quite limited, it is worth trying. I know a lot of people have said this is their favorite concealer and now won`t use anything else. I don`t think I`ll repurchase, though. If they were to come out with more shades, then I`d probably purchase it again to try out lighter shades.
