Hey all! What`s going on! #18 in my 29DAY Challenge of Something Purple. I came across this bowl on http://RealSimple.com and I thought it was really nice. I love how the color takes something so classic and makes it so chic. I could see this as a piece of several soemthings for a centerpiece on a dining room table or buffet/server. This would also make a for a great display piece in an entryway again with other items because of it`s size. It`s actual purpose allows you to use it for decorative food display but I`d be afraid to break it from using it too much.
"The traditional iittala Marimekko bowl, made of pressed colored glass, and formed into a beautiful ornate goblet, is a beautiful modern Finnish vessel. Popular for serving desserts and treats or for displaying small items, the iittala Marimekko bowl is a beautiful and colorful Finnish accessory for your home."
Measurements: 6" tall x 4-3/4" in diameter at rim (15 x 12 cm)
Holds: 14 oz (41 cl)
I personally love Iittala, I have a few glassware pieces from them and they are so wonderful, really great quality pieces. And no I don`t drink out of them... I used to and someone broke one of my glasses by accidentally dropping it in the sink, I was sooo bummed so now I use it`s partner to hold nickknacks, I can ensure that it`s in good hands unlike the last one. lol
I think it really does make for a great ice cream bowl... or knowing me my cereal bowl! It also comes in clear, 2 shades of green, and blue. But even though I know the quality is amazing... Idk about $45 per meribowl. That`s an expensive source of ice cream.
But anyway, if this were yours... how would you use it?
