This Soldiers & Sailors Monument in Indianapolis, Indiana is in the heart of the downtown area nearby lots of retail shops, near churches, the shopping mall and so forth. The significance about this 284 ft and 6 inch monument is to honor veterans of the American Revolution.
This monument is nice, all the solders, eagles, birds and so forth are detailed nicely. There is a nice calming water fall around and flowers to lit up the roundabout. Occasionally there are events that take place, like last time when I visiting, we were given a free orange lol very random just by driving through it to get the to the mall.
Also I didn`t think you can go inside but according to Wikipedia there is an observation deck that you can go and see the top. It will take you 331 steps to reach the deck and if you go by stairs it`s free and elevator, it`ll cost you $2. If I was going to visit.. stairs sounds like a better option. I`d be scared to go on the elevator since this monument is pretty old back from 1901!
The cost of this monument when built was $598,318 US. However now if you want something like this it`ll cost over $500,000,000!!
Comparing this with Statue of Liberty, this is shorter by 21 ft
During Christmas the monument is decorated as a huge Christmas Tree. More than 100,000 people attend the ceremony supposedly.
