So i went to the Dermatologist

So i`ve had a struggle with Acne since i was 16 or 17. I have tried every over the counter brand, and many of the different products from those brands. I`ve spent hundreds on face washes, and cleansers and nothing has helped.
So i decided it would be well worth it just to make the appointment and see the dermatologist.
I spent about 15 minutes in the consultation room with the Dermatologist, and what he said was pretty interesting.

He said I have grade 3 or 4 acne.
He was going to prescribe me Azythromycin which is a pill, but i already take that for my Cystic Fibrosis. So he couldn`t add to that.
But he gave me two other topical prescriptions as well.
And he advised me to purchase this specific acne kit.
It cost $40.00, and i`ve spent more on just one product so i thought. Why not?

So here`s what i`ve got!
Acne Kit:
Glycolic and Salicylic acid gel cleanser
Glycolic and Salicylic Acid Controlling wipes
Benzoyl Peroxide Clearing cream

Clindamycin Phosphate solution
Tretinoin Cream

I`ve been using the products for almost two weeks now and i have seen slow subtle improvements on my skin.
I am supposed to work up to using some of the products three times a day, but using it once already has my skin drying out.
The Dermatologist told me to give it two months, and my skin should be all clear.
He also advised me to get a benzoyl peroxide body wash.
I am a little embarrassed to admit that i have Acne on my back and the upper part of my arms. The Dermatolagist said that BP wash would clear it right up, but to be careful because it will stain clothes.
I have had those problems for quite a few years, I think it`s because i have naturally oily hair and it used to be down to the middle of my back and it would brush on my skin.

So i`m definitely going to keep on top of using these skin products and see if it helps!
I decided that i`m going to be patient and go the whole two months.

Now i did realize something sadly as i was writing this, one of the prescriptions contains Clindamycin. Which is actually a medication i`m deathly allergic to.
I have taken this medication through I.V. and I almost stopped breathing.
I haven`t had any major problems using it topically, it made my skin burn, but i figured that was just the product.
So i am going to stop using it now just to be safe.
