I have a love hate relationship with winter, but I hate being hermit for 4 months when the weather gets cold. So a couple years ago I decided that I needed to pursue an outdoor activity. It was either downhill skiing or snowboarding. I had skied as a child through school field trips and I loved it. Though, I wanted to learn something so I challenged myself to take up snowboarding. Initially the thought of having both my feet bound to the board was anxiety provoking. But through lots of practice (I mean LOTS) and determination its pretty fun. I encourage any of you to try out skiing or snowboarding if you get the chance.
I just got back from a weekend trip from Banff National Park. Its a town full of tourists and there are lots to do. We headed out to Sunshine village for a day of snowboarding. Weather was super nice (-2 degrees) and powder galore!
-Giro helmet with a peruvian toque underneath
-snow goggles from sportchek
-scarf from one of the stores on the hill
-burton snow jacket
-north face snow pants
-forum snowboard boots
In addition, I donned on thermal shirt and pants, snowboarding socks, knee pads, wrist-guards and butt pads (well padded shorts). Phew!
What do you guys think of my outfit?
Would you be interested in getting into winter sports?
