I`ve always heard a lot about Snow Monster from my friends and seen all those cute pictures of their mason jar drinks and macaron ice cream. So, I figured it was about time I gave it a try.
I went there yesterday with some of my cousins to get some macaron ice cream sandwiches (because the heat was ridiculous) and Snow Monster is really close by. Unfortunately, location-wise, Snow Monster kind of has a bad location because it`s in this Asian plaza that is JAM PACKED with Asian restaurants and stores and stuff and so it`s always really hard to find parking. On top of that, I`m always scared in that parking area because everyone drives kind of crazy so definitely sucky location.
The store itself is kinda small and kinda hot. There are some tables inside and outside which is nice, especially if you want to sit and play some of the board games they have (I love places that provide board games!). There aren`t too many options in terms of drinks (I think it`s thai tea and lemonade) but most people come here for shaved snow or ice cream so that`s understandable. The mason jar drink thing is cute but keep in mind you have to pay $2 extra to keep the cute jar!
We got the macaron ice cream sandwiches. I picked a vanilla macaron with Thai Tea ice cream (I love places that offer that flavor, it`s so good). I never really liked macarons but the one I had here was actually really good and the flavor went really well with the Thai Tea ice cream so I realllllly enjoyed it. I would definitely come back to have another ice cream sandwich on a hot day because it really was THAT good.
Haven`t tried the shaved snow here yet but definitely will when I come back because other people`s shaved snow looked really delicious. I took away one star because of the cruddy location but other than that, DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND! :)
Have you guys ever been to Snow Monster? Thoughts on macaron ice cream sandwiches
