Today, my boyfriend and I decided to go to our state park to just get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful weather :) We originally intended to make a visit to the mountains, but the particular mountain we planned on going to was closed due to post-fire cleanup & maintenance :( We tried to make the best out of the situation and just make do with what was near~ It takes about 20-25 minutes to get to the park, so we decided to just grab some snacks to munch on while we drove there! It felt like we were going on a road trip since buying snacks like this is typically how we would prepare for one :P Everything was so yummy, I had to share it with you all! Keep reading for more details on what we munched on! ^^
Sweet & Salty Chex Mix Trail Mix: Since we were going to walk on a trail, I thought trail mix would be perfect :D The bag includes: the original chex mix squares (of course), pretzels, peanuts, raisins, and mini chocolate candies. I love the sweet & salty combination and the mixture of different textures within this bag of goodness ^^ Perfect snack to munch on during a road trip or even when you`re taking a break from walking a trail :D
Chex Mix Muddy Buddies Cookies & Cream: If you`ve ever tried the Dark Chocolate Chex Mix, you know that there are these interesting chocolate coated chex pieces that are different from the regular chex mix squares. Those were my favorite pieces of that particular bag, so I was excited to see that they came out with bags that just included those pieces! They`re called `Muddy Buddies`, and I saw this Cookies & Cream kind that I just had to try! I love the texture and taste of these so much! Highly recommend you try these out if you`re a fan of cookies & cream, but prefer a crunchier take on it :D
Oh Boy! Oberto Teriyaki Beef Jerky: No road trip can be complete for me without some beef jerky! It`s a bit pricey, and my goodness the smell is pretty strong, but it`s fun to chew on and tastes delicious :) The teriyaki kind is my favorite because it tastes less smoked and more marinated. I wish they came with more pieces in a bag!
That`s it for this snack post :) We also got a few drinks, but I didn`t take pictures of those because they weren`t all that special :P Just your standard soft drinks and some water~ Anywayyyy, my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the state park :D The trail was probably about 3 miles long, so we stopped in the middle to have a bench-side lunch in front of the lake ^^ It was so gorgeous outside! (The last 3 pictures I included was of the scenery; it was so much prettier in person though!)
