I am obsessed with matte eyeshadows and since my favorite eyeshadow brand is Urban Decay, I was so excited to try out their new Naked Basics palette. Known as the third palette in their infamous Naked palette line, I have to say I am pretty impressed. I have come to know that Urban Decay sets a pretty high standard for other eyeshadows out there, thanks to their pigmented, smooth and buttery eyeshadows.
This palette, of course, was no exception. It`s great for everyday casual and/or office look, perfect for traveling due to its compact nature. I would also recommend this for those who are worried about shimmery shadows accentuating fine lines around their eyes. Matte shadows are great for that problem, and Urban Decay in my opinion makes the best matte shadows. The only drawback to this palette is it`s fairly small in terms of the color range. Very limited colors, as you can tell. And I am not a fan of the first three light colors. They second and third shades are quite similar to each other and the first is actually a shimmery highlight color. The only reason I don`t like the lighter shades is because it doesn`t really show up on my skin and I don`t think I need three light shades really. One or two would have been sufficient.
Great matte shadows
They go on like butter!
Nice medium brown and black shades
Good for school and office
Perfect to travel with
Packaging is cute and compact
Price (It`s fairly priced, in my opinion but it sucks that the Naked 1 and 2 palettes came with a brush and even a mini lip gloss or a mini primer potion. So I feel like for $27 it would have been nice if they included a nice-sized brush to travel with)
Three light shades
First shade is quite shimmery
Limited color option
I also got a Sephora Eye Makeup Remover which I do not enjoy at all. It has a strong alcohol smell and it does in fact contains alcohol, which I don`t think is good for the sensitive area around your eyes. :( The price was $5. Although it`s not too expensive, I will be returning it because I have absolutely no use for this.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have you checked out the Naked Basics? Thoughts?
