Sleek Haul

*Pic Heavy!

I am doing a swap with a fellow Luuux member so I have been getting my shop on the last couple of weeks. Since everyone seems to rave about and love Sleek products, I thought it would be nice to include a little something from their product line. However, since Ive not sent her package yet, I cant spoil the surprise by sharing what I got for her. I can share with you the two palettes I got for myself though. After looking at swatches of all the different palettes I decided on Sleeks Oh So Special palette for myself since I thought the colors would work with my skin tone and that palette seemed to be on the more wearable side. This was important for me because Im not big on make up to be quite honest. In fact I havent really worn any aside from a little concealer for my under eye area since my friends wedding nearly two years ago. Im strictly a nail polish and lip balm girl. The Oh So Special palette contains a collection of sweet pinks, corals, browns and purples. The colors range in finish from matte to shimmery. The day that my Sleek order finally arrived I gave the Oh So Special palette a go with the help of a You Tube tutorial (which Ive included a link to below), and I was really happy with the results. I dont think Ill ever become a daily full face of make up devotee but I do think it will be nice to do my eyes from time to time to mix things up and add a little pop of color. I also picked up Sleeks Sunset palette but I think this will most likely be set aside for future swaps. The colors look so vibrant and beautiful but Im not so sure they suit me. Perhaps being a make up novice, they just intimidate me at the moment. lol

Sleek has really nice packaging. The palettes have a generously sized mirror on the inner lid and they usually come with a little clear plastic overlay that shows the names of the shadows. For some reason though, the plastic overly on my Sunset palette didnt have the shadow names. Not sure if that is the norm for that particular palette or just a mistake of sorts. Ive only used my Oh So Special palette twice so far but I am happy with it and find that the shadows have good pigmentation and were relatively easy for me to work with even being a beginner. Compared to prices of cosmetic brands that I see in my local drugstore, LOreal, Maybelline, Astor, Art Deco etc., I feel that you get a lot of bang for you buck with the Sleek palettes which I paid 9.99 each for through plus shipping and handling of course. For those of you not located in the UK or Europe, you can order directly from Sleek. However, beware if you are located in North America as I have heard that they do not ship to all locations. So be sure to verify before placing your order.

Have you tried any of the Sleek palettes and what are your opinions on them? What other of Sleek products would you suggest?
