Ive been hearing a lot of raves about bb creams that I decided to finally give it a try. Theres been some debate that the asian bb creams are better than the ones sold in places such as the drugstore (the brand Garnier for example) and then there are a few brands at Sephora but I honestly have no clue as I havent tried them yet but to be on the safe side I decided to purchase a very well known one called Skin79. The Skin79 comes in three bottles: pink, gold, and their newest one orange. I decided to go with pink since I heard its best for those with oily skin.
The thing with most bb creams is that they are known to have a grey color tone when first applied but will oxidize within a few minutes to blend in with ones skin tone. The first time I applied it, I looked like a ghost and to my dismay I realize less is more with this product. After my second try, I had much more natural and even coverage after applying a fair amount on. This bb cream doesnt give full coverage but enough to even out my skin tone like a tinted moisturizer and though this is my first bb cream, I have heard the consistency of this is on the thicker side compared to the other ones.
Light coverage: hides redness, diminishes some small blemishes but doesnt completely cover
Thick consistency: applying with fingers would give the best results in my opinion
Controls oil fairly
Has SPF 25
Best for those with fair to light medium skin tones
Product also claims to whiten/improve wrinkles of the skin
Its shape like a soda can, can we say cute?
Has a built in pump making it easier for non-spillage and controllability of product
A bit on the bulkier side if you want to store it in your makeup drawers or to travel with.
Id give this in between an A- and B+. I like the light coverage as I intend to use this for the warmer summer months to come. Its rather thick so I really have to use the warmth of my hands to blend it in place. It still leaves a weird grey cast behind, Im assuming its because my skin is heavily and I mean HEAVILY yellow toned but if it were more on the yellow side, this would have been perfect. Because this does have a whitening agent in it, my skin does look a little lighter once I take this off which I dont really like but its nothing drastic, it kind of gives a nice youthful glow. It does control oil well. I usually blot throughout the day but I often find myself not when wearing this.
So those are my final thoughts of the Skin79 BB Cream in pink. This being my first bb cream, Im definitely going to try out more in the future.
