I haven`t been online as much lately which is to say, I`m out of the loop, but as it turns out, the last couple of days have been bad for Revlon Cosmetics and Sinful Colors.
in case you didn`t know, Revlon bought out Sinful Colors which is a small company that mass produces cheap nail polishes and other stuff but that`s what they`re truly known for. cheap (around $2) nail polishes usually sold at drugstores and they`re actually quite popular. as a beauty blogger I can tell you that it takes more than one frame to get a fantastic picture of anything, a swatch, a lipstick, a compact, my eyball and of course, nail polish, I mean it takes a little work and it takes a little time you know, especially if you have OCD and like your pictures to look great instead of crappy and blurry. anyways, here`s what happened ...
Sinful Colors STOLE pictures from I believe two bloggers to use in in their print adds, they did not ask for permission and what`s more, they even went as far as airbrushing out the bloggers` watermarks. that`s pretty damn low if you ask me. granted, the big ol` CEO at Revlon is not going to sit there and double check the work of their zillion employees - HOWEVER, there has got to be someone who sits there and asks "ok, now where did you get this picture from?", you know, like a fact checker at newspapers or something. it`s just wrong, it rubs me the wrong way a lot. it`s the beauty bloggers who can ultimately create a buzz over products or just trash them, so why would you go and betray that? so wrong, so wrong !!! *smh*
