Today I saw Nicole Mercedes post about her tuna pastries that she made on the oven and didnt turn out very well because they opened it and leaked. Since I just made the same pastries(but shrimp ones) in the oven also and they also opened, I decided to share them and also so Nicole doesnt feel as bad that the pastries didnt turn out well =)
These are store bought and frozen pastries that are stuffed with shrimp paste and they do have a small shrimp inside, which not all have and especially store brand (these are Pingo Doce).
But to make them more healthy we decided to put them in the oven, despite any direction on the box for it but I had made different ones before in the oven and they turned out fine. Well, after being in the oven for sometime I started to hear something and took a look :they had opened and the paste was melting. Since the harm was already done, I left them to toast and cook more and they didnt leak much more.
They were still good, different than the fried ones but still good and more healthy.
Have you ever made pastries like this in the oven instead of fry them?
