For the longest time, NYX cosmetics was pretty rare in Canada - there were only a few places where you could get it, and they were not only few but also far in between.
So when Shopper`s Drug Mart (basically like our version of a Walgreen`s or CVS) announced that they were going to start carrying NYX products, I was super excited.
There are also a few items from NYX that I have been keen to try so it`s exciting that I will now get a easier opportunity to try them.
As of yet, a lot of items are still missing from the shelves, so the NYX eyebrow pencil i`ve been hearing so much about is nowhere to be found. Same goes for the Avant Pop palettes that I have heard some YouTubers rave about.
However, I did decide to try out some items that I`ve had my eye on.
First up is the Dewy Setting spray: I have discovered a new love of setting spray since they can be great for refreshing make-up and helping it last long. I tend to get very dry skin and even with primers and moisturizers, my foundation can start to look patchy and cracked. But setting sprays are great and offer a new burst of moisture and offer a way to set foundation that requires less powder (which can dry skin out further). While I usually go for a more matte look, I was curious to try the dewy finish since apparently it is an even better option for dry skin.
Next, I picked up a tube of the NYX liquid suede lip colour. I love a bright, bold lip and this hot pink shade was calling my name. I have worn this a few times already and I do like it. It goes down fairly matte, but still has this liquid look to it if that makes any sense - it looks matte but not dry. It is also fairly long wearing , in my experience, but it can also smear if you aren`t careful.
I`m thinking of picking up some of the more playful shades next, like the purple :).
I did also do what I always when I am shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart and that`s check out the clearance section. I almost always find some great deals!
This time around I found some Almay singles shadows for only 2 dollars. They only had 2 shades available, this blue and a lilac. However the lilac ones were all cracked or smashed so I skipped them. The blue one`s were mostly the same, but I found this one that is in seemingly perfect condition, so I brought it home with me...
I`m hoping the NYX section continues to grow and that we get some of the products I`ve been curious about.
Do you guys have any other suggestions for NYX products that I should try?
