I haven`t been really excited about MAC collections lately. Back in January when MAC released the Iris Apfel collection, they had five really nice limited edition lipsticks but I didnt get a chance to pick up any of them. From their latest "Shop MAC, Cook MAC" collection I only picked up 3 things (2 lipsticks and 1 tendertone).
Out of all six lipsticks, the ones I was most excited for was Watch Me Simmer and Quick Sizzle. I already had Innocence Beware when it first came out in the Venomous Villains Collection back in 2010. In fact, I think I even bought a backup of it because I loved it so much. It`s a great everyday pinky-nude shade.
Watch Me Simmer
It`s an amplified finish. This is a really bright orange-coral pink colour. It`s really unlike any colour I have. I normally play it really safe when it comes to lipsticks, usually a light pink or a nude colour, but this was too pretty to pass up! It actually reminds me of Toxic Tale, another lipstick that was released in the Venomous Villains collection but I think that was more of a neon orange.
Its a matte finish. This is a really bold vibrant bright pink. The pigmentation of this is awesome. I love the formulation of this lipstick because unlike most matte, this isnt drying at all. Since its such a pigmented bold colour it will leave a slight stain on the lips (at least on my lips it sure did). I heard this colour is quite similar to Pink Pigeon that was released earlier back in January, so if you missed out on that you can try this one instead.
Although theyre not shades I would wear on a day to day basis, its nice to play it up at times and wear something bold and intense.
These two lipsticks were the first to sell out online and at most counters. Theyre both limited edition so if youre really interested in getting these I suggest you run out and grab it now before its too late.
