Here in the mid-west, the summers can get HUMID! Wearing lots of foundation and concealers feels icky! No one wants to feel like their wearing a mask, humid or not.
My checklist for a lightweight summer foundation:
- Will not break me out.
- Will not look or feel cakey
- Will not make me shiny.
A recent obsession with Benefit led me to purchase the "Some Kind-a Gorgeous" fake-up. Let me warn you: if you have dry or peeling skin DO NOT USE. This will totally adhere to the dry skin making it look more noticeable. I highly recommend using a primer after your moisturizer (of course!).
After applying with a natural bristle stippling brush, this cream dries to a smooth powder finish. My skin looks even and has the right balance of matte and dewiness. For any blemishes and to hide dark eye circles and redness around my nostrils, I pat more product on with my middle finger for a little extra coverage. You could build layer upon layer with this if you chose to, however, cakiness might be a problem.
LOVE this stuff. Great for day time use, casual wear and maybe even the gym (if you`re that kind of girl).
Stoked that the shop-links feature products I`ve used. I highly recommend the Lemon-Aid concealer by Benefit too. Perfect when you had too many cocktails last night.
