Continuing my tour of Chicago, I bring you the Shedd Aquarium. The Shedd Aquarium is located in Millennium Park in the location where they call Museum Campus. In the Museum Campus area there are several different museums and a stadium. It`s right by the river and is just stunningly beautiful. (Though not as beautiful as New York`s skyline as Crispy claims) General admission to the Museum is cheap (around $8) but if you want even any of the extras like Aquatic show or 4D, then you are force to upgrade to the "super" ticket which is in the $30 range!
Now so opted for the Aquatic show which you`ll see in the 3rd picture. It`s a nice show but I was a bit disappointed in that it wasn`t more of a Seaworld type show. It was more educational in about how the trainers teach and care for the animals. Less of the Whales and Dolphins doing leaps and such. Another thing they`re well known for is the penquins. Now we had wanted to do a Penquin Encounter where you can get close to them and interact with them for 30 minutes. But you have to book at least two months in advance. We were way too late.
Overall I would still recommend coming here. But don`t pay for the extras. Look for discounts online or even buy your tickets online. There`s a long line there if you didn`t buy your tickets ahead of time!
