I was feeling lazy to make dinner the other day and so I decided to get some Chinese food take-out instead.
I headed to one of my favourite Chinese Take-out places called Dragon House. They are a tiny hole in the wall, and to be honest, the storefront isn`t much to look at, but they have rarely disappointed me with their food.
While I usually stick to some tried and true favourites, I was interested in trying something new this time, so I ordered their Sesame shrimp along with my regular Hot and Sour soup.
The order came with 8 pieces of shrimp that were battered deep-fried and coated with toasted sesame seeds. The batter was nice and crispy but a little dry. I have had their sesame chicken before, which features deep fried chicken pieces that are later tossed in a sweet and savoury sauce before being topped with the sesame seeds. Because this doesn`t have a sauce, it is much more dry. However, it worked out okay for me, since I just dipped my shrimp into my soup instead!
While I was expecting something different, I did like the combination of the fried shrimp with the soup, and it`s something I would probably order again.
