Hello lovely Luuuxers!
The annual Sephora April VIB sale has come and gone, and now that the damage is done I thought I`d come on here and share what I got!
I did two shopping trips throughout the sale so part 2 is on its way!
First, I decided to take advantage of the 15% discount to try two new foundations. Well, one is new and one is just new to me! The new foundation is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation. This foundation is billed as being a `water foundation,` making it exceptionally hydrating, and also claims to have full coverage. I have worn this foundation twice so far, and I can honestly say it is my favorite foundation that I`ve used in a long time. It does have full coverage and it makes my skin look flawless, and it gives my skin a comfortable dose of hydration, all while still feeling feather-light. Plus, it lasts on the skin really well too! I am currently on hour 15 of wearing this foundation after a long day of work and play, and my skin still looks amazing and my imperfections are still covered. Highly recommend this one!
The second foundation I decided to try is the Bare Minerals Original mineral powder foundation. This has obviously been on the market for quite a long time, but I hadn`t ever gotten around to trying it. I was looking for something that would look extremely natural on my skin, and I always heard that Bare Minerals gave a natural lit-from-within look. I was concerned, however, that this foundation would not cover all the redness in my skin. I decided to purchase alongside it the Tarte Airbuki powder foundation brush so that I could get the most coverage out of this foundation and be able to buff it in to the skin for a flawless finish. After wearing this foundation four times after applying with this brush, I am hugely impressed! The coverage makes my skin look evened out, yet somehow the foundation looks invisible. It simply looks like my skin, but with more clarity and luminosity. I can tell this is quickly going to become my every day foundation!
One of my other makeup problems that I have been trying to fix for awhile is the discoloration in my eyelids. I tried the MAC paint pot, which I still absolutely love, but the shades didn`t match my skin tone quite right, with Painterly being a little too ashy and Soft Ochre being a bit too yellow. When I stumbled across the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden, which is essentially a hybrid between a concealer and the original Primer Potion, I knew I had to give it a try. Sure enough, the tone of this product matches the tone of my skin perfectly, and it creates a nice even canvas for my eyeshadows that is completely bulletproof, just like the original PP. I love how this creates an especially pretty base for my matte shadows. This has quickly become my favorite primer, even better than the NARS pro prime!
The last thing I picked up in this first haul is the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Bacca. This shade is a rich berry-red, and I coveted it because it was dark enough to look dramatic but also bright enough to be appropriate for spring and summer. I`ve been searching for a liquid lipstick that doesn`t make my lips feel like a desert, and so far I`m enjoying this formula! The weather is starting to warm up and the sun is coming out again where I live, so I have a feeling I`ll be using this a lot on the weekends!
That`s it for Part 1 of my Sephora haul! Stay tuned for part 2 coming soon! :)
