As @Sera_lina recently posted, Sephora had 20% off the sale section a little while ago, and I decided to place an order.
The item I have had my eye on for a while is the Sephora `Summerstash` - it`s a make-up case filled with deluxe samples of some of Sephora`s top selling items. While the set is aimed to be a `summer` collection, the products are good to use year round. I am keen to try some of the products in this set, without having to pay full price, including the Urban Decay setting spray, the Deborah Lippman polish and the Nars Laguna bronzer. There are some other nice travel products included as well. The best part is that this set was initially $54 CND, but was on sale for $36. With the extra 20% I paid under 29 dollars for it. I think the original price tag is a little steep considering these are pretty tiny (I think the 147 dollar value is grossly overestimated) but for 36 dollars, I would suggest to check it out :)
I also found some off the Sephora Formula X nail polishes from their Electrics line in the sale section. The sale price is 6 dollars, or $4.80 with the discount. They were These are very vibrant bold colours, and I had heard that some shades, despite being neon, we`re very pigmented and opaque. There were 4 colours available, but when I received them, I was disappointed with 3. Hyped (purple with pearly shimmer) , Seismic (bright tangerine) and Danger Zone (coral with pearly shimmer) were very sheer and even after 3 coats, I wasn`t super happy with them (the items in the second picture are what I ended up returning). However, Zing, the electric blue shade, was great - good to go with one coat, so I decided to keep that one. This was my first experience with Formula X, and though I wasn`t too impressed with the opacity of the other shades, I hope this one works well. Formula X polishes are famous for being chip-resistant, so I will report back on it soon.
As you can see, I also ended up returning another item I purhased. I had ordered one of the Bite Beauty duo lipsticks they had come out with. They are these great mini lip products that were packaged like ornaments so they were intended as Christmas gifts, but they are still available. There were some lip glosses available and some matte lip crayons, but I was most intrigued by the double ended mini lipsticks, since for 15 dollars, you get to try two of Bite`s famous lipsticks! There were three duos available: browns, nudes and pink/purple. Unfortunately for me, I accidentally ordered the wrong shade. I was hoping for the nude duo, since I don`t wear browns too often, and I already have one of the pink colours (Palomino) thanks to the Give me more Lip palette. But I guess I wasn`t paying attention since I ended up ordering the pink/purple one so this also got returned. I was hoping to exchange for the duo I wanted in store, but they were out of stock.
But one other item I ordered online was a Buxom Dealer`s Choice value set. It has a sample of their Hold the Line black eyeliner and a full size Full-Bodied Lip gloss in a nude shade called YooHoo. The amazing thing is, the set is 13 dollars, but just the lip gloss on it`s own is 23 dollars! I love that the set is supposed to create a subtle yet easy look, with dark liner and nude lips. The gloss is actually huge, and the liner looks really pigmented and creamy so I can totally see myself using this for a quick look on a low key night out.
All in all, I got some great items, and I`m really excited too play with all the stuff I got! And gotta love Sephora`s amazing return policy :)
