A team of scientists made paraplegic mice due to spinal cord injury return to run and walk, after regeneration of the central nervous system. This is good news for paraplegic people.
After a couple of weeks of neuro-rehabilitation with a combination of a harness and robotic electro stimulation, our mice not only initiated voluntary movements of locomotion, and soon began running, climbing stairs and around obstacles. In these tests, scientists injected a chemical solution in mice, which enabled the neurons to be ready to coordinate the movement of the bottom of the body when needed.
This is amazing news! let`s wait for more developments!
