There is nothing more I hate than spending money on makeup. Especially because makeup like foundation, concealer and mascara only lasts for several months. Did you know that you`re supposed to throw out your mascara after three months!? (I really should, but I never do.) After spending so much on makeup products, I`ve figured out a little bit of a cheat system.
Next time you want to go shopping for makeup, go online and see if there are any coupons for what you want. Google exactly what you are looking for. Once you are in the actual store, go to one of the representatives, or sales staff. Show genuine interest in the products you are searching for, be it liquid foundation, mascara, eye cream etc. Once you finish your conversation about how well the product holds up, the details and how much it is, say you`re going to think about it and ask for a sample. At Macy`s makeup counters such as MAC, they will give you a small sample size of foundation in your color. MAC, Sephora, Lancome, Chanel and Clinique have all done this for me.
If you are looking to buy a full bottle/tube of some type of makeup, present your coupon and when you are checking out, ask for what samples they have. 9 times out of 10 they will throw in extra ones for you, but not unless you ask. From Lancome, I got 8 tubes of mascara - I haven`t had to buy it in a year. I also got eye cream, skin serums, moisturizer, sunblock, lipstick, blush and eyeshadow from them.
Another great tip is to make really good friends with one specific sales representative at a makeup counter or store. Be outgoing, friendly and nice. They`ll love you for it, because every time you buy something from them, they get commission. Ask for their hours so you can only go in when they`re working. They`ll start throwing in extra samples for you and let you know when to get really good deals.
I hope this helped you! Please comment if you have any other tips about how to get makeup for free! Thanks:)
