There`s nothing worse than watching the news and seeing that there`s a massive hurricane headed right up your ally. This was the case last week as I all but feared for my life when news of Hurricane Sandy started spreading. Fortunately, for me it wasn`t all that bad but it was clearly not that much of an excitement to New Yorkers who seem to be getting next to no help from what I understand what with the looting and apparent lack of NYPD and FDNY (according to WGAL news).
Reading online and watching the news I`ve discovered that: "Four more bodies were discovered on Coney Island yesterday and several others on Staten Island, bringing the death toll from Hurricane Sandy to 41 (up from 34 yesterday) according to the NYPD press office. 19 of those deaths occurred on Staten Island, where the search for victims continues today. Yesterday investigators recovered the bodies of two young boys who were ripped from their mother`s arms in the surging flood waters on Monday night, and rescuers have been knocking on doors in thousands of buildings. But they`ve stopped short of breaking doors down to search."
It`s hard to think about how this all happens and is happening so rapidly but we can only hope that there is no more of anything like this to follow. Bless the ones we lost because of this and their families.
