This is already the 3rd market analyst stating that Samsung is the new leader of the mobile phone market, surpassing the 14 years of leadership of Nokia.
The first time was a quote from a Reuters poll of several analysts, who gave leadership to Samsung, then was the Bloomberg quote to Strategy Analytics. This time was the IDC, which indicates the Samsung as the new market leader.
In the first quarter of 2012, Samsung sold 93.8 million phones, beating Nokia, which sold 82.7 million units in the same period. Apple appears in 3rd place with 35.1 million units, 3rd place which had already achieved in the fourth quarter of 2011. ZTE comes in 4th place and then the LG.
A good note to ZTE, which is in 4th place in the mobile phone market, surpassing the LG compared to the same period and the previous quarter.
In the narrower market of smartphones, Samsung also leads, ahead of Apple. Samsung sold 42.2 million units, while Apple sold 35.1 million. In third place comes to Nokia`s ranking, with 11.9 million, after RIM (9.7) and HTC (6.9).
