Tonight my boyfriend and I had a little date night and I was in the mood for pizza. I wasn`t in the mood for regular Costco pizza but a restaurant that specializes in pizza, so we decided to go to Sammy`s Woodfired Pizza & Grill. I have dined here a handful of times but it was my boyfriend`s first time. We`re doing a new date night where we try out new restaurants once a week so let`s see how that works out!
What we ordered:
Garlic Cheese Bread - $7
This alone could have been an entree but this was our appetizer to share. It`s a wood-fired garlic VERY cheesy bread and yummy. I would highly recommend this, I ALWAYS get this when I dine here!
New York Style Wood-Fired Pizza
The pizza is on a thin crust with sauteed mushrooms, all natural pepperoni, Italian sausage and home made tomato sauce - $12.50
I enjoyed the pizza but what makes me mad is when you bite into the pepperoni, the entire pizza will slide off because it`s so thin but nonetheless the pizza was pretty good. Not the best I have tried but better than regular pizza especially since it does cost more than a regular Large pizza you would get at like Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Costco, etc.
My Boyfriend`s Entree:
Oak Roasted Salmon Filet
Wok`d Vegetables, spicy Ginger Lime Vinaigrette - $17
He absolutely loved his Salmon, it was juicy and mouthwatering supposedly. He liked the way the salmon was prepared/marinated and cooked.
Dr. Pepper (Mr. Pip) - $3
Overall thought: The service and environment is really nice however I think it was a bit expensive for a Pizza restaurant. We paid $50 for our food and that`s including tip but I did really enjoy the pizza. Would I dine here often? Probably not, maybe for lunch and split a pizza. This isn`t an OMG must try Pizza & Grill place for me but conveniently located nearby.
Have you ever dined at Sammy`s Wood-fired Pizza & Grill? If so, what do you generally order from there?
