S Health Walking Mate

Recently I got the new Samsung S4. One of the new features that was mentioned at the announcement was the new health app. I wanted to focus my initial review on the Walking Mate. What the Walking Mate is, its basically pedometer. What a pedometer does is it tracks the number of steps you walk in a day.

My initial thought was, this is awesome. Because most pedometers are ugly and not very attractive. If its an app on your phone, then you can track your steps without the extra piece. Now overall, as far as I can tell, if works pretty well. Its default is 10,000 steps a day, if you wanted the cheat/ check if it works, you can do so by shaking your device. But you`d only be cheating yourself

Now this idea and app is wonderful and all, only id you`re someone that always has your phone on you. I personally don`t walk around with my phone all day so you`ll see my number of steps in the hundreds even though I`ve been running around all day. So in that sense, it is flawed. However, there is a bracelet type band coming out soon that you wear that syncs with the app on the phone. But then once again, you`re back to the ugly extra piece.

I`m cnsidwrinf purchasing the band, if I do, I`ll definitely have a review on that. As well as a better review on the app itself.

Any suggestions for a good pedometer that isn`t ugly?
